Danielle is on leave until mid 2025. Unfolding Communication will not be operating during this time
I am a qualified Speech and Language Therapist living in Ohauiti with my family. I have been working in this field for several years now and have had the privilege to work in a variety of settings. I began my career with the Ministry of Education, where I gained valuable experience working with pre-school and school-aged children. Later, I moved into private practice and worked with Shannon Hennig at Inclusive Communication in Wellington.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with individuals of all ages and stages, from toddlers to adults. My experience has covered a wide range of speech and language difficulties, including Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and many more. My passion for my work lies in literacy and social communication, where I strive to help individuals overcome communication barriers and improve their quality of life.
As a Speech and Language Therapist, I have also developed skills in multimodal communication. I understand that communication can take many forms, and it is essential to recognise and utilise all possible means of communication to ensure effective interaction. I am a registered member of the New Zealand Speech-language Therapists Association (NZSTA), and I have completed training in SCERTS, which has further developed my skills in working with Autism and social emotional communication. I look forward to helping you, or your friend or family member, develop or refine communication skills.
